The activity of Resido is centered on quarrying and cutting limestone rocks.
Limestone is a rock of sedimentary origin that was formed during millions of years in the beds of evaporated seas and lakes, where it has gone through a process of consolidation and crystallization in the course of time. It is the primary source for sea animal shells and other fossils.
Limestone is the most commonly used stone in architecture and masonry. Many famous buildings across the world, including the one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World - the Great Pyramid of Giza - are made from limestone, being considered the closest rock to man.
It was heavily used during the Middle Ages for building churches, castles and made it's reputation in the late 19th century, being used for train stations, banks and public buildings all across Europe and the United States.
The varieties of limestone are still very popular materials today, having proved their durability and resistance to exposure over the centuries.
Compared to other types of stone, limestone has a more subtle look, and is more flexible in terms of processing, resulting in an almost unlimited range of use.
