Polished

Polished is a glossy surface finish that brings out the full color and character of the stone. The mirror-like shine is accomplished by using progressively finer polishing heads during the polishing process. The goal is to achieve the maximum shine for each tile. A polished surface creates a beautiful shine, thanks to the reflection of the stone’s crystals. Products finished this way are recommended for indoor use, countertop, or facades.

Honed

A honed finish is created by stopping before the last stage of polishing. This non-reflective surface provides a satin-smooth matte finish, creating a softer, more informal look. A honed finish requires very little maintenance, because it shows fewer scratches, being recommended for commercial use: floors, walls, stairs, etc.

Brushed

Brushed finishing is the result of the surface of the material going through a process of brushing with diamond tip brushes. These surfaces feature a worn-down look, simulating natural wear over time. The veins and texture of the stone become more emphasized. These surfaces are ideal for floors, stairs.

Bush-Hummered

To achieve the bush-hammered finish, the surface of the material has to go through a process o mechanical hammering. The result is a rough uniformly patterned surface, that tends to subdue color and markings of the stone. Bush-hammered surfaces are slip-safe and provide less visible color variations, being recommended for outdoor use and flooring.

Tumbled

A tumbled finish is obtained by placing the material in vibrating tanks full with pebbles. As a result of the vibration and the clash of the stones a weathered, aging surface is obtained. Tumbled delivers a smooth or slightly pitted surface, and rounded edges and corners. Tumbled stones can be used both indoor and outdoor for flooring and walling.

Sandblasted

Sandblasting uses sand carried by a blast of air or steam at a high speed. Sandblasting has been used to revive or clean old stone surfaces like a fireplace surround or mantle made of stone or an exterior surface of the house made with stone material. Sandblasted surfaces are recommended for outdoor flooring to prevent slipping, and are also recommended for wall cladding and socles.
